B.Tech. Admissions 2026-27

The admission to first year/lateral entry B.Tech. courses in Engineering/Technology programme is done through Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) and JoSAA.

CENTAC 2026-27 B.Tech. Admission Notification.

B.Tech. (First Year and Lateral Entry) for AY 2026-27 is completed as on 30.9.2026

Fee to be remitted as follows: 

1. CENTAC - UT of Puducherry Candidates ₹ 32,101

2. JoSAA/CSAB General Category: ₹ 1,62,401 - ₹ 70,000 (transferrable from JoSAA/CSAB from PAF remitted) = ₹ 92,401 (payable at the time of admission)

3. JoSAA/CSAB SC/ST Category: ₹ 87,401 - ₹ 30,000 (transferrable from JoSAA/CSAB from PAF remitted)      = ₹ 57,401 (payable at the time of admission)

4. CENTAC - Self Support (UTP and OS) General/OBC/EWS candidates:  ₹ 1,62,401

5. CENTAC - Self Support (UTP and OS) SC/ST candidates: ₹ 87,401

6. NEUT - ₹ 57,101

7. Hostel Fee payable:₹ 75,000 (including caution deposit) - Hostel Fee Details || Hostel Fee portal || Students/Parents are requested to visit the Hostel before making payment...

Note: If payment could not be made in one transaction, then the transaction numbers of multiple payments must be mentioned in the admission proforma. The proof of payments must be enclosed with the admission proforma for submission at the admission office.

The candidates who have been allotted seats by JoSAA/CSAB but not opting to join PTU can send a mail to admissions@ptuniv.edu.in requesting for refund. Such mails should have details of bank account in which the refund is requested: Name of the Bank, Branch Name, IFSC Code, Account Number, Account Holder Name.

Refunds (after deducting a processing fee of ₹ 1,000) for such candidates will be effected only after the transfer of PAF remitted to the CSAB which is likely to happen in the month of December, 2026 or January, 2027

Refund requests from the candidates who have completed admission formalities in PTU after remitting fee, in case they decide to discontinue, will be processed and the amount remitted to the university, only will be refunded (after deducting a processing fee of ₹ 1,000) within 2-3 weeks time. PAF refund will be effected soon after the receipt of the same from the CSAB.

Candidates and parents can complete the admission formaity hassle free if they complete the online registration and fee payment before visiting the campus.

The following is the list of documents to be brought by the candidates at the time of registration:

1. Hardcopy of the admission proforma submitted online

2. Proof for fee payment (Receipt)

3. Original Certificates (for verification and return)

4. Statement of Marks 10th,11th & 12th Qualifying Exams

5. Certificate to Claim Seats Under Regions of Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam of UTs Puducherry

6. Transfer Certificate (Original will be retained by the office)

7. Provisional Certificate/Diploma Certificate

8. Nationality / Residence & Community /PIC

9. Special Category (FF/PwD/Defense/Sports)

10. Latest Income Certificate (optional for availing scholarship schemes)

11. Proof of Date of Birth (Birth certificate is mandatory for B.Tech. admission)

14. JEE Main Score Card

15. JoSAA/CSAB allotment order
